Fire Diva Friday

So I've figured out what I want to do for Fridays.... it's now Fire Diva Friday! Two days have been decided Tuesdays and Fridays...only 5 to determine what they'll focus on and their name... so in the "theme" of things.. here's the latest

Treasury Tuesdays

So I'm thinking that I might be better at blogging  if I had just a bit more structure.  Often there's so much that I want to say that  I get overwhelmed and of course then nothing gets posted.  I've decided that each day will have a special theme.  I may not always post every day and I may not completely stick to this "theme" schedule" but it will help to keep me posting.. and that's my goal.  ;-) ... so today is "TREASURY TUESDAY".

I love doing treasuries... I get a kick at oogling the colors and the ingenuity of each of the artists.  Late last night I did one because I'm longing for Spring.... So check out the goodies I found early this morning!

Fantasy Shopping with the Fire Divas!

 Fantasy Shopping Saturday

I marvel at glass.  The colors. The feel. The bond that happens when you see that one bead that 'screams' ...take me! take me! And  to think it all began almost 4,000 years ago in Mesopotamia and Russia.  A beadmaker of that day, sat in front of a flame, probably in some sort of animal skin and bark (the garment of the day) and thought about the colors they would be using, the anticipation of  what the end result of the day's work would look like, and the excitement of  each new discovery. When we sit at our torches, that same anticipation and excitement permeates our thoughts. We're humbled to belong to a community of artisans that are thought to have created the oldest known art form. I wonder if that old saying applies here..... "everything new is old"...hmmm??? Let's check out the  Fire Divas and see! I'm betting it's all new! Oh, make sure you check us our daily.  There's news coming especially for you!

Fantasy Shopping Saturday



It has actually stopped snowing for a few days. I can see the pavement, although there's still plenty of snow. As I walked up to my front door yesterday, I saw a few blades of green grass where the snow was beginning to recede, and it brought back strong urges to see spring colors! Bright greens and pinks, soft pastel yellows, and crisp blues... but short of  hopping on a plane to a warmer climate, the shortest distance to seeing those colors today is....(drumroll here please)...checking out all the Fire Divas' Lampwork beads on Etsy and Artfire!  So at some point today I will sit in my comfy chair, pull my "Snuggie" around me, grab a cup of herbal tea,  and just bask in all the "Springy" colors!
