Every once in a while I treat myself
to choosing a topic, throwing the topic into my address search bar, hitting the
find button, and seeing what comes up. Why do I do this? I'm
sure this is just one of those quirks that you have to know me to
understand! What I can tell you is that I have found tons of inspiration,
numerous topics to blog about, and some really cool , weird, and unusual
things. Sometimes I find a real gem!
Today, I came across a word that was unknown to me... "hamper gifts". Because I was unfamiliar with the term, I punched it into my "trusty" address bar as a question... and was tickled to find out it's basically a wicker basket filled with lots of goodies. It's a British term, what we Yanks call...a Gift Basket! or Picnic Basket! ;-) I'm used to calling a hamper a container that holds laundry.
Normally
I would have gotten my answer and and dashed "in" and "out"
of the site. But as an artist I'm attracted to color...it draws me
in. So my first impression was how pretty this site is, and it made me
want to look more...both out of curiosity, and my attraction to flowers. If
you are familiar with my work, I love doing floral lampwork beads......
and
floral digital collage sheets.

So I was absolutely mesmerized
at the visual impact of this site! The color combinations of these
Hamper Gifts "wowed" me. So much color inspiration for my glass
work!
So what started as a quest for
inspiration and information soon became...wow! what really nice
baskets.... and then my curiosity got the beast of me! oops I meant
best of me! ;-) and I was looking at everything... really sumptuous
flower bouquets....And wait! ...a section for Mom and New Baby! How cool is that?!?
One more thing...If I wanted to... I
could actually order from them. They do international shipping via flower
shops all over the world. How about those cookies! Oh yeah they didn't
have those , but they do have chocolates ! Amazing huh?
My quest today 'kinda mirrors
life.... you start down one path and you end up on another. And if you
want to know how to take care of your cut flowers.... this is a great
site for information and how-tos....wikipedia additives-for-cut-flowers.
